I. Job Summary
Must have the ability to work on an oil and gas site and in an office setting with limited to no supervision. Responsible for successfully supporting operations based around upstream, midstream, downstream projects. Responsible for the safety compliance in all Baker Consulting operations. In addition to health safety and environmental (HSE) excellence, this position will be responsible for new hire orientation training in bilingual settings and all scheduling of new hire orientation and OSHA required training matrix.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned with limited or no supervision, ensures the following:
- Compliance with all regulatory programs at a local, state, and federal at all levels. (OSHA, DOT, TERO, MHA DOT, WSI, MSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Create, support, and maintain all company policies, HSE programs, and SOP’s critical to the success of the company.
- Conducts HSE meetings, HSE stand downs, and HSE audits. Conducts reporting, investigation, and ownership of case management and resolutions to all incidents and near misses.
- Works with HSE Manager in all aspects of hiring to include creating and maintaining job descriptions, new hire orientation onboarding, drug testing, and coordinating required safety trainings.
- Coordinates job specific and HSE training and training matrix for all employees.
- Addresses any employment related issues including drug testing and incident/accident/ injuries.
- Recordkeeping for all required employee files, HSE training, local, state, federal, and client specific items.
- PPE inventory and accountability along with updated list weekly.
- Provide consulting and HSE training to outside entities as a line of business when available.
- Supplied Air Trailer Technician when needed on client locations (expect to work 9-14 hours/day).
III. Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.
A. Education and Experience
Required:
- At least three years experience in a safety sensitive position servicing the oil and gas industry.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred:
- Safety certifications applicable to offer training of internal employees directly
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Clear driving record
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
Required:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Currently hold or have the immediate ability to obtain certifications to directly train Baker personnel for PEC SafeLand 2021, H2S Clear for Energy, First Aid/CPR/AED for Energy, H2S and Respiratory Protection with Rescue Simulation among others including client specific orientations.
